FRC // COMMAND

A cybernetic command system for broadcasting the robots like the sport they are
SYS v1DATE 2026-06-15 PRESENTED BY FUN Robotics Network — Tyler Olds PRODUCED W/ Hayterwave Media LLC ENGINE RobotReveal cyber-HUD
01// THE THESIS

One idea the system serves

FRC is already a sport — red alliance vs. blue alliance, a clock, a scoreboard, playoffs. Nobody broadcasts it like one. We are the command center that does.

This isn't "robotics videos." It's a broadcast command system for a sport that hasn't been televised properly yet — ESPN / UFC / F1-grade coverage delivered through an isometric, target-locked cybernetic interface that runs every match like a live tactical op.

02// MEDIA PERSONALITY & THEME

The Command Deck

The channel "is" a calm, hyper-competent mission-control operator — a tactical broadcaster, not a screaming hype channel.

Top Gun mission brief × F1 pit-wall telemetry × an ESPN desk, rendered as a command-center HUD. Authority comes from data on screen, not caps-lock.

Voice & tone

  • PRECISE Numbers, lock-ons, callsigns. "Team 1023, EPA 142, rank #3 — locking."
  • REVERENT Teams are athletes. Matches are bouts. Never condescend to FRC.
  • COOL→HYPE The drop & the slam carry adrenaline. The operator stays cool.
  • INSIDER FUN's analytical depth, made legible to a sports-fan outsider.
DIRECTIVE

Three feelings — every output

  • SCALE "Bigger than I thought." Iso god's-eye field, stadium framing.
  • ELITE "These people are elite." Telemetry + rankings = athletes with stats.
  • STAKES "I need to see what happens." A clock, a bracket, a rivalry.

NOT

Generic gamer overlays · synthwave purple soup · meme-first · "educational content." Education is a byproduct of great sports coverage — never the pitch.

03// SIGNAL CHAIN — HOUSE OF BRANDS

One system, three identities

Distinct palettes so a single frame is instantly attributable — bound by one structural language (isometric + cybernetic HUD + audio-reactive motion). FUN presents; Hayterwave produces & supports.

COMMAND

The on-air product: the isometric cybernetic broadcast of FRC-as-sport. Red vs blue.

SOUND LAYER

THM

Tech House Market — the sound of the system. Magenta + cyan. Stings, drops, beat energy.

Hayterwave Media LLC is the production house behind the system (THM / dropdoctor / RobotReveal engine) — the supporting partner on this venture, not the headline.

04// COLOR SYSTEM

Exact hexes

Used like a console, not a poster: cyan = primary UI, green = online/go, red/blue = alliances, amber = caution / #1 / award. Violet is structure only — never decoration (that's where it tips into synthwave).

CAUTION — 2026 live season = REBUILT℠ (presented by Haas). Use the official REBUILT lockup for the event badge; alliance red/blue stays our permanent identity so the system survives season-to-season.

05// STRUCTURAL LANGUAGE + LIVE SYSTEM

What makes a frame "ours"

Independent of palette — the Bedford render engine, productized. Live demo of the look:

CLIP A

● LOCK · TEAM 1023 · eta 02
FRC COMMAND // ISOMETRIC TACTICAL FIELD
  • ISO 2.5D God's-eye field. Extruded blocks: lit top + dark side. Move the world, not the lens.
  • HUD FRAME Corner reticles, telemetry column, scan line, one loud status caption.
  • TARGET LOCK Reticle + solid trail (actual) + dashed-cyan (predicted) + ● LOCK eta NN.
  • BREATHING Picture pumps on the LUFS envelope. Drops: white flash + chroma shock + zoom + shake.
  • FFT/SCOPE Scrolling MIX//LUFS waveform + FFT spectrum (THM cyan) = the sound made visible.
  • LAW Audio drives the cut. Always. One headline per graphic.

The working reference: ISO 2.5D festival stage, live FFT spectrum, Limelight tx/ty/ta targeting UI, DMX light console, "type a vibe" remix (Command / Hype / Cinematic / Glitch / Stadium). This is the bar the broadcast package matches.

06// FRC AS A SPORT

Re-skin the structure into broadcast formats

We don't invent the sport — it exists. We give it the coverage the NFL / UFC / F1 get. FUN already names shows like a sports network (Top 25, Forecast, Round Up, FUNalysis); the graphics package matches that ambition. Build once, reuse forever:

07// XFER — 2.5D CYBERNETIC TRANSITION

Studio → Command Grid

Connective tissue between FUN's desk and our field. ~24–32f @24fps. Full spec: resolve/TRANSITION_2p5D_CYBERNETIC.md. Demo: tyler/intro.html. Beat map:

f0–8
Fold. Clip A rotates into the iso plane; HUD reticles snap in.
f6–14
Grid power-on. Cyan lines sweep outward; scan line runs; ◆ TARGET LOCK.
f12
Dead-silence micro-gap. Pull to near-black, hold a bright seam.
f13
SLAM. White→amber flash, chroma shock, zoom-punch, 2px shake — on clip B's downbeat.
f13–22
Rise. Operator avatar lifts out of the grid; reticle draws ● LOCK.
f18–30
Unfold. Clip B un-folds into full frame.
f30–32
Settle. HUD eases to clip B's resting lower-third.

AUDIO LAW: place f13 exactly on clip B's downbeat/kick. Camera iso-lock (-30°, 45°) reused identically every time = brand consistency.

08// GUARDRAILS

Do / Don't

▸ DO

  • Anchor every match graphic in red-vs-blue. It's the sport.
  • Let audio cut the video (LUFS / drops). Cool operator, loud drops.
  • Keep cyan/green as the system UI; amber only for #1 / award / caution.
  • Keep FUN monochrome + one borrowed accent. FUN presents.

✕ DON'T

  • Let violet/lavender bloom take over — that's synthwave, not a command system.
  • Mix THM magenta/cyan into an alliance score bug — that's the sound layer.
  • Recolor or stretch FUN's mark, or bury FIRST's official marks.
  • Add a second headline to any single graphic.
